The Snowflake Process for Writing a Novel
Good fiction doesn’t just happen, it is designed. You can do the design work before or after you write your novel. I’ve done it both ways and I strongly believe that doing it first is quicker and leads to a better result.

How to write a novel in 100 days or less. Day 13.

I don’t use index cards, although I can see how they could
be useful—especially when working on a screenplay, which by it’s nature lends itself to encapsulation—I just don’t have the feel for them. But today the site has me scribbling down my characters traits on index cards (an excel
spreadsheet).

I developed a little worksheet to help with this stage of the process.
