Peltier beer cooler

October 31, 2005

While drinking certain dark beers in the sun, I came to think about how to keep the beer cold until I finished it.
Normally this isn’t a big problem as I usually finish them before they get warm, but on really hot days this can be a problem. Having some hardware lying around in my apartment, I decided to build something that could keep the beer cool.
Read on to see how I made my own PeltierBeer.

Poe On Writing

October 29, 2005
Charles Dickens, in a note now lying before me, alluding to an examination I once made of the mechanism of Barnaby Rudge, says—”By the way, are you aware that Godwin wrote his Caleb Williams backwards? He first involved his hero in a web of difficulties, forming the second volume, and then, for the first, cast about him for some mode of accounting for what had been done.”

The Man Who Would Murder Death

Aubrey de Grey

If you wish to be a prophet, first you must dress the part. No more silk ties or tasseled loafers. Instead, throw on a wrinkled T-shirt, frayed jeans, and dirty sneakers. You should appear somewhat unkempt, as if combs and showers were only for the unenlightened. When you encounter critics, as all prophets do, dismiss them as idiots. Make sure to pepper your conversation with grandiose predictions and remind others of your genius often, lest they forget. Oh, and if possible, grow a very long beard.

Keep Yourself Fit During NaNoWriMo

Most likely you sit behind a desk clicking away at a computer all day, and if you are participating in NaNoWriMo this month you will likely spend double the normal amount of time at your PC.

You can keep snacks (hot pockets, crackers, chips, etc.) with you at your desk to stave of starvation, and you can keep iTunes up and running the entire time for entertainment. But what are you supposed to do about exercise? They don’t make microwaveable exercise, but eHow has a nifty article on how to exercise while sitting down.
